Description

Product Description How It WorksScare-Eye Balloons are 3D visual deterrents that imitate the glaring eyes & gaping mouth of a predator bird. The reflective and bright-colored Mylar eyes and tails, along with the additional effect of the entire balloon moving with the wind, effectively intimidate unwanted pest birds off of your property.Pests Repelled Scare-Eye Balloons efficiently repel a number of common pest birds including pigeons, sparrows, starlings, swallows, crows, blackbirds, geese, seagulls, ducks, and woodpeckers. Where to Use Since Scare-Eye Balloons are a visual deterrent, they are only effective in areas where pest birds can see them. Scare-Eyes are recommended for use in open outdoor areas up 6,000 sq. ft. such as homes, gardens, porches, small farm fields, barns orchards, hangars, garages, parking lots, outdoor restaurants, and more. Installation To install Scare-Eyes, the first step is to inflate the balloons. By fastening a string to the inflated device, Scare-Eyes can be bound to surfaces for treatment. Pack of 3 Balloons includes yellow, black, and white. So far these have managed to keep the ducks away from our pool. Two negatives: 1) they deflate quickly so I have to add air 2) the neon eyes fall off. I’ve used super glue on some of them. Others have blown away so I have about half the eyes on. Still they seem to be working on our duck issue.Every spring we have Mallards landing in our pool that eventually lay eggs and sadly we have to take the babies from their mother to a rescue and the mother obviously left heartbroken looking for them hanging around for days. This year we couldn't do it again we ordered these balloons helping they would deter the ducks from landing in our pool. I looked out one day and the ducks were swimming with all 3 balls! I called the duck rescue and he said ducks don't care about these sort of things. It was too late to return them so it was a total waste of money. We bought fencing and fenced off the shrubbery near the pool, ducks like to lay eggs in shrubbery very close to the water. The fencing worked. Don't bother buying these if your goal is to keep ducks out of the pool and prevent laying of eggs. Fence off areas near the water and they will vanish.after years of dealing with ducks in my pool and trying all kinds of things. simply hung these from my patio cover and no more ducks. Keep them inflated. These "balloons" are basically specialized beach balls that you attached shiny ribbons and stickers to, and yes, they work over a limited area. I hang mine in the tree branches over the table on my pool deck and the birds tend to gather elsewhere in the trees. I still have to clean droppings from time to time, but nothing like the constant mess before I hung the balloons. You have to relocate them occasionally or the birds get used to them. I like that the birds don't gather in the trees over the pool deck, but still visit my feeders 30 feet away in another corner of the yard.I was a little skeptical before trying these, but for the inexpensive price, I figured I'd give them a try. The birds kept eating my ripe red strawberries before I could pick them, which was understandably frustrating! These worked immediately! Not a single berry has been pecked since using these weird looking beach balls :oDKEEPS DUCKS OUT OF MY POOL!I installed multiple of these to keep woodpeckers off my house. They work but you will have to keep pumping them with air every few days.I live in a condo in a 6-story warehouse-style condo in downtown Chicago. After six years of relative quiet, a community of birds suddenly took to hanging out in the support beams of the balcony above mine. In addition to incessant chirping right outside my bedroom window well before dawn each day (even weekends!), they had *coated* my balcony and railing in droppings. And in the city, it's not like I have the ability to simply sweep or hose them off.Given that most city wildlife is not afraid of anything (a billowing trashbag and my dog had no effect at all in the days prior to receiving my package), I was very skeptical that something so simple and inexpensive would work. But it did--immediately. I used an untwisted hanger to hang it from one of the rafters and attached the included foil tape to the bottom, and almost two weeks went by without a single sighting, chirp or dropping! After that time, I did notice one bird on the neighboring building's roof edge, looking at my balcony, but it didn't come in. I just changed the color and the position of the balloon and he's long gone. I now change it up every week or so. The yellow seems to be the most effective. It's ugly, but I was able to find a position that doesn't show too much from the kitchen or bedroom windows that overlook the balcony. It moves just slightly in the wind, which is perfect.I would have given this a full five stars except for one thing. You have to unpeel the tightly-packed, sticky-plastic balloon carefully or it will tear, and it's almost impossible to keep some of the design ink from transferring to the side it was stuck to. I hastily tore the first one open and created three small holes in the plastic so it wouldn't stay inflated. Fortunately, some flexible fabric glue fixed it quickly. I was much more careful with opening the other two and they are fine.Simple, inexpensive, humane and easy to use, and it works! I'm so grateful.
