Last year I found a couple of the screens on our new house badly damaged in the spring with some fairly large holes. Initially I thought it was chipmunks, but then I saw a goldfinch land on the screen and pull to get some of the fabric fiber. Ah-ha!! They’re using it for nesting!This reflecting material does a good job of repelling the birds from the windows (or anywhere else you don’t want them). You can attach it to poles, branches, etc. outside to keep them away from other areas.For windows, while the instructions say to affix to the outside of a window so they flutter freely, that’s not always possible. I cut lengths about 2/3 the height of the screens, and used painter’s tape to attach 2 strips per window, taping them at the top to the inside between the screens and windows. Air flow still caused some fluttering of the material even with the windows closed, and the birds left my window screens alone for the rest of the season. Once nesting season was over, I took them down and saved them to reuse.So if you’re wondering why you have a hole in a fabric/fiberglass screen that wasn’t there a week ago, it’s very likely the birds are doing it. Stop them safely and effectively with this holographic tape!
